Michael grew up spending his summers at a family cottage on an island surrounded by an Ontario lake.  He would spend 3 months each year barefooted playing outside with nothing but nature, water and the sun to capture his imagination.  For me, it conjures images of loud suntanned kids with strong dirty feet and contented sleeps.  Last night after dinner we walked down to Sandpiper Beach and saw happy kids laughing loudly playing in the evening water.  They didn't care that it wasn't warm; in fact, it was the furthest thing from their minds.  They were unabashedly complete in themselves and in the moment.  Oh, how I love summer.
