Coiled Again
I have been living on Hornby for a year now so I wonder how I missed seeing the ferns unravelling this time last year.  Their whimsical structure remind me of nautilus shells and dragon tails, of elephant trunks and the arms of spiraling galaxies.  And I love how not only the frond is coiled in on itself but the individual leaflets are too, like a sophisticated party favour begging to be blown open.  They are simultaneously fascinating and a little creepy, like green alien arms reaching out to grab hold.  I wonder what I will see tomorrow.

My favourite green aliens! You're so right about the fascinating/creepy combo. Beauty in an unexpected form.
