How Sweet It Is

Just came home from a wonderful weekend in Victoria.  We visited good friends, saw a cabaret show, and enjoyed the many pleasures of the city.  Part of that bliss though is the joy of returning home; the smell of salt water in the fresh spring air, the natural quiet that gives the space for deep sleep and to wake hearing the symphony of birds singing, and the surprise from trees whose limbs were bare two days ago suddenly bearing rich green.  For me, there is new truth to the adage that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
