Movie Night at the Hall
Last night we went to our first movie at the Hall.  Half the fun is arriving an hour early on the excuse that you are there to get good seats (the Hall has a limited supply of leather chairs which are incredibly comfortable and of such a beautiful design).  But really you spend the time visiting with friends and neighbours, smiling and waving to people and enjoying good conversation.  There is a jovial spirit of community combined with the excitement of a night out at the movies.   Apparently with the rise of downloadable movies this Hornby institution has suffered a decline in attendance and frequency.  But I seriously doubt it would ever disappear because (I know this is going to sound provincial) it is just too much good old fashioned fun.  And I didn't even tell you about the organic popcorn, homemade brownies and cookies!
